Summary of our position

National Food Imports Ltd. has historically favoured suppliers that operate under recognised ethical codes of practice that include regular compliance audits and we only work with companies that contractually commit to complying with applicable laws and regulations. Having carried out analysis of our supply chain, we believe the risk of modern slavery in our operation is low. However, as our supply chain extends worldwide, we continue to look at ways of further assessing the entire supply chain and ensuring that slavery and human trafficking form no part of our supply chain.

We use the globally recognised platform, Sedex, to assess our own business practices and those of suppliers in our supply chain. Additionally, we ensure suppliers in our supply chain adhere to our own standards.

In assessing our own business, we are satisfied that our existing employment practices and procedures comply with legal requirements in relation to modern slavery and human trafficking.

Primary responsibility for identifying risks and implementing processes around prevention of slavery and human trafficking in our business and our supply chain, will lie with our HR, procurement, and technical departments, who work to continuously improve our working practices in this area.
